We will help you to understand what influence the parameters of comforters and pillows exert on the comfort of your sleep. Being aware of it all you will be able to choose something that will match your needs.

name of a product

By naming products we wanted you to be able to find out easily which product would be best for you. Comforters are divided according to seasons during which they prove effective. The exception is the anti-allergic comforter indented for allergy sufferers. You may read more about it in the section anti-allergic – what does it mean?

Winter comforter is intended for the persons who like sleeping at an open window even during winter or for real chilly persons. If you are cold covered with a standard comforter then this is the comforter you are looking for.

A universal comforter is adapted for sleeping during any season of a year. We made it especially for you if you sleep in winter at a closed window and in summer at an open one. It is the most often purchased comforter at our shop. However, if in summer you feel too hot covered with a standard comforter or too cold in winter, you may want to purchase a winter and a summer comforter.

A summer comforter will help you look after your health during hot summer. The coating woven from cotton and dawn fill ensure its hygroscopic features, i.e. it perfectly absorbs moisture, takes it away from you and lets air through. Thus it protects you against rheumatism and at the same time its degree of filling is low enough so as not to make you feel too hot.

An exclusive comforter is a unique product prepared for exceptionally severe winters. To make this one we purchase perfect Siberian down. Winters in this region of the world result in best insulation qualities of the down obtained from its fowl.

fabric

Caring for your health we use only natural raw materials that is why down and feathers are always coated with 100% cotton. What does it mean for you?

Cotton is hygroscopic, i.e. it perfectly absorbs moisture, takes it away from you and lets air through. Thanks to it you may think about your health not only now but in future as well for it is one of the factors preventing from rheumatism.

In case of an anti-allergic comforter a densely woven cotton hampers the penetration of specks into the comforter and thus help you to sleep comfortably despite your allergy.

fill

Writing “fill” we think about something that is coated with a fabric, i.e. something that is inside the comforter
and just like in case of fabrics we use only natural fills. Depending on a product the fill may be of different significance to your sleep. What significance?

In case of comforters we use down or 25% down as the fill, i.e. a mix of about 25% down and about 75% feathers. Down is treated as a luxurious product due to its great insulation qualities. For this reason down comforters are lighter and at the same time as warm as the 25% down ones. However, if you like feeling that you are covered with something or your funds are limited we may recommend our 25% down comforters which are equally warm as the down ones, but are heavier.

In case of pillows the fill is of another significance – what becomes important is its springyity. Obviously feathers show much better springy qualities than down, nevertheless before you make your decision, you are advised to read the section how to select a pillow, a cushion

size

This parameter is of great significance for you if your height is far from average. At our shop you may order sewing an individual comforter at any size

One usually buys a comforter that has approximate size of the bed, however not a smaller one. A comforter should cover your bed completely, alternatively it can stick out.

color

A fabric color is the parameter of exclusively esthetic significance. In our offer you will find cotton in its natural color and ecrie.

fill weight

At the beginning when writing about weight we would like to give you practical good advice: 25% down is heavier than down. So if you prefer to sleep under heavier comforters, the 25% down ones would be just for you.

The insulating values are mainly influenced by three parameters: the fill type, its weight and degree of chamber filling. A heavier comforter characterized with a smaller degree of filling may warm worse than a lighter comforter with a higher degree of filling.
At Puchland all products have the same, i.e. high degree of filling. You can read more about it on the subpages related to quality (look menu on the left). For this reason what decides about the degree of chamber filling in our case is mainly the weight of fill.

You need not know the size of this parameter as for your comfort our models are divided due to their weight and their names give the idea who they are designated for.
